Jumping Que

I jumped queue again this morning!

I have been jumping queue to get into MC bus ever since the beginning of this semester. Because University students are particularly good at jumping queue. Maybe there are even better than primary school little brats.

But I’m not a brat myself. At least I always queued up first before I switched mode to jumping queue.

Utarians this batch are a LOT more than expected. Last semester the few of us were Willies because we could sit anywhere in the bus we felt like. This semester we are sardines.

At least since the beginning of this semester, students have not been queuing up while getting onto the bus, and because of that I have been forced to do the same thing. And the day before yesterday, something bizarre happened when I went down from my unit to wait for the bus.

Why — right in front of my eyes was a string of students in the queue waiting for the bus to come! University students finally know how to queue up, I thought.

It was such a long queue and although I knew half of them would not be able to get onto the bus, at least they were queuing up.

However, my papa always told me that when you see something bizarre happens like out of the blue, always believe and doubt it at the same time.

Because when the bus finally arrived, the queue immediately got dissolved into a swarm of hungry and attacking sharks vying for a seat in the bus.

What the hell is with UTAR’s DSA anyways?

I was told students in the President’s and Dean’s List can get a 50% discount off MC’s rental for the whole sem, which was also confirmed by MC’s management because they said UTAR would send the list to them.

Thinking we could get a discounted rate of RM 150 off our monthly rental, Hong E and I were contented enough to travel all the way from MC to PA, and from PA to PC, and from PC to PD.

And when we get to PD, this Ms. Wong-Something told us the application form would be out and sent to PC shortly. I already had a bad feeling about it when she told us this.

So we were like ok and then waited for another two weeks. Just now, I kinda lost my patience so I called Ms. Wong again. And you guess what?

My guess was that she had to have forgotten that me and Hong E had looked for her before. Because she returned me with “There is no such thing; who told you that?”

I was stunned for a moment before I reminded her that I had seen her before and that she said the form would be sent to PC shortly.

And all of a sudden the discount thing became true again when she said, “We only offer this to 20 people at the beginning of the year.”

“I’m sorry? Did you say the beginning of the year?” I said. “I thought you told me your would inform Mr. Oscar from PC if not send the application forms to him?”

When?” she said, making it sound like she had just suffered from a memory lost.

Why the heck are they so kiam in giving hardworking students some advantage!?
