MrDefinite.com is currently at 494,797 on Alexa ranking. Certainly not the best yet but it is not bad either.

Just three days ago Alexa ranking came in at 574,520. However, I expect the ranking to be dropping a little in the next couple of days because there is a drop in traffic due to the lack of updates as of late.

For your information, I was busy preparing for my convocation last Saturday and it made me real hectic. On top of that, I have no Internet access at the time being. In order to update, I need to do it at my University.

The next time I update, I shall let you know how I have increased my site traffic twicefold. I will also show off some photos taken during my convocation once I’m done editing them. :D

When I announced that this website is finally going niche, I admit I was worried. Among the reasons I was worried, firstly, I wasn’t willing to lose a portion of my readers even though my site traffic remained only at 100 unique readers per day.

Secondly, a make-money-online blog isn’t something new. Too many bloggers out there are jumping on the bandwagon. The more make-money-online blogs means the more tensed competition is.

I followed my guts in the end. I turned MrDefinite.com into a money blog that is different from many others’ such that it also portrays the personal side of me apart from the serious stuff.

Three and a half months later today, not only am I convinced that my decision was right, I have also gained invaluable knowledge pertaining to this niche.

In December last year, the Alexa ranking of MrDefinite.com was outside 1000,000. By the end of February 2009, the ranking has moved up to 700,000+. As I’m typing this right now, the ranking goes up once again to 574,520. My goal is to make it stay within top 100,000 within two months from now.

If things are going smoothly as planned, the second phrase — to focus on money making tips and tricks, should come by real soon! Happy!

Among the things I have learnt from running this niche, search engine optimisation (SEO) is really, really important. Seriously, this blog wouldn’t achieve success in such a short period of time without SEO. Besides, link building and anchor text that decide the terms your site will rank for are equally important.

I have also worked on the otherwise slow load time of MrDefinite.com by taking out unnecessary codes. To further enhance readers’ experience without confusing them, I even wrote a “summary” about the transformation of this site in the top sidebar so that readers have a clue on what happens here.

I have also sorted the category items in the sidebar into the parent categories of “MrDefinite 1.0″ and “MrDefinite 2.0″. In “MrDefinite 1.0″, readers will be able to read my entries that are niche-unrelated. Most of the entries posts prior to 2009 can be found in this parent category. “MrDefinite 2.0″ contains everything pertaining to the niche of this blog.
