After you have created a website it is high-time to think about attracting visitors as your web presence will hardly promote itself. So your main task after your site is ready to be shown to the world is to let people know about it, and in order to accomplish it successfully you should be aware of search engine optimisation (SEO) main techniques and know how to make them work in favour of your website.
Well, here are some basic steps for making your web presence a popular place.
1. Mind the titles.
Giving your web page a title you should remember that it will considerably predetermine your site ranking in search lists. Titles that match searched keywords best will have the highest positions and thus will be chosen by most users. So try to give your website a laconic but exhaustive name which will reflect the sense of the content kept within its pages. Don’t forget to provide some informative description of your page which follows the title. Thereby your potential visitor will clearly understand what your website is dedicated to and will certainly get interested to go and visit it.
The allowed length of a title reaches 150 characters so don’t make it too simple and try to invent something really eye-catching and coherent to evoke interest in potential visitors. Don’t forget about keywords but be careful not to make your title look like some keywords enumeration with no distinct sense at all.
2. Think over keywords.
Keywords tend to be an important element of your website. You must provide keywords for your site thoroughly as it will also predetermine your rankings. Mind that words that are kept within headings are considered to be more important and search engines will process them in the first place.Don’t overstate with using keywords, otherwise search engines will penalise your site defining it as spam. Nevertheless, your website keywords density (the correlation of searched words and total quantity of words within your pages) should be high enough to provide better rankings.
3. Make use of links.
Uploading content to your website link main and important words as every link is picked up by search engines. The link may consist of one word or a couple of them — it is up to you to decide. But don’t exaggerate highlighting the whole paragraph or so as it is not the right way for getting high positions from search engines.Another method of receiving high rankings by means of links is to have your website linked from other popular sources. You can make use of link exchange programs when websites link to your site while you paste a back link to them. It is a very good promotion strategy as it will certainly add to your website image and competition, and increase a number of visitors from users. You only need to be careful with the websites you are linked by — you need to learn about them at first and make sure the source is reliable.
4. Marketing is important.
Except techniques mentioned above that help your website receive traffic there is far more methods such as advertising campaigns, promoting via newsletters and articles, networking and attracting referrals — all these strategies will help to bring more visitors to your website and thus will make it a more popular place. So don’t neglect this aspect and take actions!
Talking about your website promotion it should be said that there is a wide range of possibilities open and available to you. So don’t fold your arms and remember that your website success is in your hands!

I read these tips from Ezine Articles and thought to share it with you in my own words. Personally I have tried the first two tricks below and they are proven good to my traffic and eventually my advertising revenue.
I have yet to try the first. In fact I installed social website icons long ago but removed them as they did not do justice to my traffic and revenue. However, situation might have changed and I must give social website icons a try soon.
Trick #1: Putting a Balance When Blogging
You simply don’t bluff while trying to convince visitors into buying your products or services. Of course it would not be a great strategy to highlight on the weaknesses of your products or services, but that doesn’t mean you can hide anything negative from visitors who are smart nowadays.
Try mentioning both the good and the bad of a product — honesty is the best policy. Maintaining a balance give your potential customers a chance to have trust in you.
As a SEO blogger, I sell knowledge in this area. When it comes to Alexa ranking for instance, yes sometimes I do proudly talk about its steady rise, but that doesn’t deter me from honestly telling my readers of its possible dip due to whatever reasons.
My point is, be humble if you wanna get the trust of your potential customers. You don’t wanna sell something for only a time.
Trick #2: Experiment with Different Approaches
Be it images, advertisements, or other elements, you just need to keep experimenting to find the most strategic approaches that attract conversions.Previously MrDefinite.com was using a two-column theme. It was bland and became a bore to my readers after three years. Towards the end of last year, I changed my theme, and played with the positions of my ads. I have since successfully increases my advertising revenue.
But that doesn’t mean I can just stop right there. Nothing is permanent, so continuous changes are necessary to optimise revenue as this site progresses.
Trick #3: Integrate Social Website Icons
There are there to enable satisfied visitors to submit it to particular social marketing website and share with everyone. TRAFFIC!
Conclusion
All in all, just remember that you are not the only blogger selling a particular product or service. As e-commerce is gaining increased relevance among bloggers, you are competing with many others.
Therefore a great strategy to sell your stuff is to get people to trust you in the first place! You don’t simply buy from strangers from Ebay, do you?
