Pleasing the Google Gods

You may be having issues gaining ranking in the organic search engines, or possibly getting indexed properly, but Google does not hate anyone! Google is a computer program and looks at all websites and blogs in the same manner. No prejudice, no emotion and certainly no favours!
Google gods
If you find your website not performing up to your expectations here are some of the possible reasons why the Google gods may not be favoring your website or blog.
  1. You are an intentional spammer. This means you are acting in an unethical manner in your website optimisation. You most likely know you are doing it and got caught.
  2. You are a blackhat optimiser. This means you are performing on site black hat techniques to attempt to fool the Google gods. You got caught and it is hurting your site.
  3. You are unknowingly performing black hat optimisation or spamming. This could be the case and before you start optimising your site you should get a better grounding in proper SEO techniques or contract with a SEO company till you get a handle on your Search Engine Optimisation efforts.
If none of the above reflects your website efforts here are some basic guidelines to properly SEO your web pages. If they are followed the results will be positive and you will be ahead of most of your competition in the rankings.
  • Name you pages correctly. All your WebPages should be named differently and specific to the content and the keywords targeting for that page.
  • Use your H1-6 tags. There should only be one H1 tag. Use keywords that you are targeting for your webpage in the H2-6 tags.
  • Content. Each page should have a minimum of 400 words of quality, subject specific content. Web page content is one of the most important aspects of properly Search Engine Optimising a webpage. Content is still KING.
  • Do not over optimise a page for rankings. Google is not stupid; Google can tell what a page is about. Furthermore if your webpage is constructed as I have outlined above it already knows what the page is about prior to the body of content on your webpage. Do not over use keywords and phrases. It should read natural.

If your blog is powered by WordPress, there are a plethora of plugins that could turn it into a mobile platform without having to configure a separate URL.
I’m currently using WordPress Mobile by Andy Moore. Wanna see how MrDefinite.com looks like on your mobile device?
Behold.
mrdefinite.com, wordpress mobile, mobile phone
Simplicity is…elegance!
The system automatically shows the stripped-down version of MrDefinite.com if you are browsing it on a mobile device. It looks totally uncomplicated and different from the non-mobile version.
If you don’t have a mobile device that allows you to go online, Opera Mini Simulator and mobiReady show you how your site looks like on one.

In an era of technological convergence, everything is rolling back to its simplest point, with Twitter (a micro-blog) being a result of this trend.
In order to catch up, it is getting necessary for our sites to only to be able to go mobile, but also look simple and bring about convenience to users.
