5 Tips to Optimise the Content of Your Posts

Search engine optimisation revolves around the creation of content. The better written the content on your web site from an SEO stand point, the more effective it will be at driving additional traffic to your site.
Without a good SEO approach to your content, all of the effort that you put into research and professional writing techniques could end up being a waste of time. There are five major tips to optimise the content of your posts and drive traffic to your web site or blog.
1. Keep Your Content Up to Date
While passive income is entirely possible, your best strategy is to always strive to update your blog or web site with fresh content. On one hand, you may be able to attract comments to your posts – sufficient to keep content updated from a search engine point of view.
However, creating content that is fresh and new on a regular basis is the best way to keep your posts attractive to search engines. It can be difficult to keep up, especially if you have multiple websites. That is where using a company that offers content writing services will come into play.
2. Don’t Get Too Carried Away With Code
Search engines are much more likely too favor web sites that have simple coding than sites that have complicated HTML codes. Simple heading, paragraph and list codes are usually adequate. If you have some code intensive entries, make sure you balance it with plenty of simply coded content to keep your content to code ratio satisfactory.
3. Pay Attention to Keyword Density
Your best option is to choose one or two strong keyword phrases and ensure that their density, when compared to the entire article, is around 2%. So, if you are writing a 1,000 word article, your keyword phrase should appear a minimum of 20 times.
However, avoid keyword saturation. If your keyword density begins to creep into the 15% range, your SEO may begin to become less effective and the writing will likely be clunky and forced.
4. Begin and End Strongly
Your first and last paragraph should include the keyword phrase that you have chosen for the content. The earlier in the first paragraph and later in the last paragraph, the better. this is one of the most frequently overlooked aspects of content SEO. However, don’t forget to include the keyword phrase throughout the article. The first and last paragraphs are usually not enough.
5. Use Keyword Links
On a web site, you can use strategic keyword links to hyperlink text to other pages on your site. In the same way, you can use these links to point readers to other related posts that you may have created in the past. Not only will this give your readers a fast way to access other posts that you have created, it will also assist with the ranking of your page on search engines.

5 Easy Tips to Brand Your Blog

bfm.pngBrowsed through The Business Station’s web archive and stumbled upon an interview with prominent local Internet marketer Irfan Khairy.
Being a successful and experienced blogger himself, he shares his experience on how to position a blog in the mind of the audience. Among the important points he said about blog branding are summarised below:
Tip #1. It is important to make use of social media, which include tools like blogs, forums, Youtube, and social networking sites (Facebook, Linkedin, Myspace) to promote business on the Internet. Depending on our niche, we use different social media tools to cater to different target audiences and to serve different purposes.
For example, Myspace is to target those who are into music and entertainment; Linkedin is for professional use; and Facebook is for anything in between.
Tip #2. Choosing the domain name is also vital. When deciding our domain name, try repeating letters as repetitions tend to make a word sound catchier. A few classic examples are exemplified in Yahoo.com and Google.com, where there are repeated O’s.
Tip #3. On colour, red is a good one to be associated to our blog as our retina takes a longer time to register the colour and as such, the experience stays in our mind much more effectively.
Blue, on the other hand, is the second stronger colour. Green is a “non-colour” and one should avoid using green unless the blog is pertaining to environment.
Tip #4. Logo is pivotal because people tend to remember images better than words. When designing a logo, it is good to be rectangle in shape and try avoiding weak shapes like circle and triangle. This is because our eyes look at things panoramically.
Tip #5. “The power of three” — a short/three-word slogan is good, and it is even better when the words rhyme! E.g., Xiaxue’s “Everyone’s reading it”; Nike’s “Just do it”; and KFC’s “Finger-lickin’ good”.

To put in a nutshell, branding is basically differentiating yourself from others and getting people to remember your brand; it’s not really about “killing” your competitors.
