The highly-anticipated iPad 2 will officially be released tomorrow (29 April 2011), and many are curious to know the iPad 2 price in Malaysia.
Before that, it is important to note that there are two main models of iPad 2: one with Wifi, and one with Wifi plus 3G. iPad 2 prices differ according to different models and capacities.
Well check out the iPad 2 price in Malaysia:

Let’s compare the price between the first version of iPad and iPad 2.
WiFi
16GB iPad RM1,549 / 16GB iPad 2 RM1,499
32GB iPad RM1,849 / 32GB iPad 2 RM1,799
64GB iPad RM2,149 / 64GB iPad 2 RM2,099
3G
16GB iPad RM1,999 / 16GB iPad 2 RM1,899
32GB iPad RM2,299 / 32GB iPad 2 RM2,199
64GB iPad RM2,599 / 64GB iPad 2 RM2,499
iPad 2 is generally cheaper than the original and the difference of the price is up to RM100 for some models.
iPad 2 operates using Apple’s new A5 dual-core system-on-a-chip, which will run much faster than previous version of iPad.
This new model of iPad is also thinner and comes with cameras, although I read that the camera quality is poor.

Are you buying an iPad 2?

There are so many choices available in web design these days that it can be difficult to decide what the best option is to take for your website. One of the first and most common decisions that anyone producing or ordering a website will need to make is between an ASP and PHP based website.

Sound like a different language to you? That’s because ASP and PHP are acronyms for two different web scripting languages – and in order to decide which is the most appropriate scripting language for your web design you’ll first need to know what is meant by “scripting language”.
The phrase ‘web scripting language’ refers to a form of high-level web programming language that is used to add increased interactivity to static HTML based web pages. Scripting languages can also be used to operate tasks such as the auto-filling of online forms.
ASP and PHP have a variety of different qualities, but both scripts can be used in web design to build dynamic, interactive websites. Your choice between them will most often be based on what server you use and what kind of functionality want in your web design.
ASP is the acronym for Active Server Pages. It is a Microsoft server-side scripting language, meaning that the script is parsed and rendered by the server which in turn sends the resulting display to the user’s browser.
ASP script can achieve many exciting effects in web design such as dynamic editing, the addition or revision of web page content, carrying out database queries, reading and writing files, creating images and connecting to other remote computers.
PHP, Hypertext Pre-processor, is also a general-purpose server-side scripting language that is used to write web applications. PHP code can be used in conjunction with HTML in web design, to build small or large scale interactive applications.
PHP scripts can be used to enhance web pages by creating features such as secure login password pages, build forums, and create picture galleries, quizzes, surveys and many other effects.

One of the main differences between ASP and PHP for web design is that ASP requires a Microsoft Server with IIS installed in order to function, whereas PHP scripts can be read by NT, Windows, Solaris, Unix and Linux servers.
For this reason, PHP is often favoured in web design because a Linux server can be acquired at no cost, whereas a Microsoft server and IIS would require purchase. Another reason that PHP is popular in web design is its flexibility.
PHP is also a fairly straightforward script that provides superior database connectivity features, being compatible with several databases including the popular MySQL.

This is convenient because MySQL is free to use, whereas MS-SQL, the purchasable Microsoft product, is the only database compatible with ASP scripts.
Despite this, and although slightly more difficult to learn and use, ASP also has its fans in the website design industry for several important reasons.
ASP is far more popular than PHP for the web pages of large companies for the simple reason that Microsoft products enjoy widespread international popularity, meaning that an ASP based web design will be compatible with the majority of other major business sites.
With ASP web design, B2B transactions are simplified because all companies involved are using the same web platforms and applications.
In addition, ASP uses Visual Basic Script language which is a well established client-side scripting language commonly used in web design.
In summary, both ASP and PHP have their own advantages and disadvantages when it comes to website design. Your choice between the two will essentially be dependent upon what kind of website you are interested in developing.
For example, if load times are of great concern to you, you should consider PHP scripts since ASP which, rather than using its own memory space, utilises that of the overhead server.
Before making a decision, it is always best to consult a web design professional who can assist you in making the most appropriate decision according to the requirements of your web site.
