I’m posting this entry with total excitement and a sense of relief.
My old Yahoo! mail interface is FINALLY gone. I have always hated how slow and dull-looking it is.
Ladies and gents – the new Yahoo! mail design:

Up-close:

It is not only visually more interesting but most importantly it is a lot faster now (official site says it is 2x faster)!
Attachment of files is also enhanced in this new design. Previously, clicking on the “Attach File” button will bring you to a secondary upload page.
After uploading, it has to take you back to your message box and such “taking you back and forth” steps really consume a lot of your time.

Right now, clicking on the “Attach File” button will allow you to select, conveniently from a pop-up box, the file(s) you want to upload.
After you’re doing selecting, it automatically uploads the file(s) for you in the background while you continue typing your message.
And, for another feature that blows your mind – the new Yahoo! mail design now allows you to quick-reply to messages, which is akin to commenting on Facebook posts!

I’m not advertising for Yahoo! mail, but I just can’t help it. The new features are amazing and now you should be convinced to upgrade Your Yahoo! mail to the new design!

As most of us Malaysians know, our government has decided to imposed cyber censorship on file-sharing websites like Megaupload and The Pirate Bay sometime this year.
This has gone against what was stated in the MSC Malaysian Bill of Guarantee (BoG 3): “to ensure no censorship of the Internet.”
It is utmost frustrating.
Firstly, not all files posted on file-sharing sites are pirated stuffs.
Secondly, what about other file-sharing sites not banned by the government? There are tens of thousands of them out there!
Thirdly, block sites can easily be unblocked.
This is really unfair to other users who may be accessing these sites for other purposes, say, downloading powerpoint slides, photos, etc.

Anyway, among the file-sharing sites blocked by the Malaysian government include:
- thepiratebay.org
- www.movie2k.to
Now, how to unblock Megaupload and other file-sharing sites, you may ask.
BEHOLD.
How to unblock Megaupload and other sites.
#1. Use proxy sites
Well, there are an abundance out there. Just type “proxy sites” on Google to search.
If you’re lazy, here are a few proxy sites you could try out:
Some of the service may work for certain websites and not others, so you gotta try.
Just enter the blocked URL in the box on the proxy site and hit go. Good luck.
#2. Use UltraSurf
Ultrasurf functions the same like proxy sites, except that it makes your life a little bit easier by simplifying the steps for you.
Just download the mentioned programme. Unzip the file, run the programme and your Internet Explorer browser shall pop up.
Just enter the bloacked URL in the browser and it shall automatically does the job for you.
Well, those are tips on how to unblock Megaupload and other file-sharing services, and I hope it will be useful for you!
