3 Great Ways to Increase Twitter Followers
Between the two biggest social media sites, Facebook and Twitter, there are over 1 billion active accounts around the world. This staggeringly large number of users is changing the way we interact on the Internet.
For those people just getting involved in the social media frenzy, it can be frustrating to have to start off without anyone following their accounts.
Here are 5 ways to improve your >Twitter following for both your personal and business accounts.
1. Include your Twitter information in your email signature.
Aside from going door to door, or waiting to tell your friends and clients about your brand new Twitter account in person, add it to one of the most common mediums of communication on the Internet, email.
Most people send out hundreds of emails per month to friends, family, and their business clients. This is one great way for all of these people to get exposure to the name of your account, especially if it is linked directly to your page on Twitter.
Even a simple @______ can be enough to add plenty of followers if it’s emailed to enough people.

2. Add a Twitter button to your website or blog.
Almost every website is attempting to gain a following in social media and many of them have begun to add both Facebook and Twitter widget buttons to their sites.
In just one click, users are seamlessly added to your account without having to even go onto Twitter’s website.
Don’t underestimate the impact of having these widgets being highly visible on your website. Making it convenient for people to follow you is one easy to seriously enhance your following on Twitter.
3. Put some effort into your Twitter page.
The homepage of your account is where people are able to get a snapshot of your tweets, style, and creativity. By refusing to replace the basic Twitter user picture of an egg with a picture of your own, you are telling people that you don’t put much effort into your account.
Even changing the background picture can be another way to show potential followers some of your creativity. It doesn’t take much, but these little things can make a big difference when it comes to gaining a following on Twitter.
By trying these basic tips and tricks you should begin to add followers in no time. Just because anyone can make an account doesn’t mean they are all worth following. Make sure yours is an account that stands out above the rest in a world where social media is beginning to dominate the Internet.

How to Update Facebook User Profile to the New Timeline

Back in November, Facebook Timeline was introduced during its F8 conference. The timeline offers a new way to present your Facebook profile to the world in an anti-chronological order.
The roll-out, however, was a gradual one. Not everyone knew what it was about.
It is only recently have users been informed that the old Facebook User Profile is being replaced by the Facebook Timeline.
How can users upgrade their existing profile to Facebook Timeline? Here’s how:
- To get Timeline on your profile, head over to Facebook’s official Timeline page.
- At the bottom of the page, click the “Get It Now” button.
- Once you enable it on your account, set everything up. You have a seven-day review period to play with the new design before anyone else can see it.
- However if you’re satisfied with the timeline within the seven-day grace period, hit the “publish” button and the Timeline will go live immediately.

Below is how mine looks like:

Just like the previous version of Facebook, you can hide or delete your status updates.
Besides, you can now highlight a certain update on your Timeline by clicking on the star to the right of the update. This will blow up the update and extend it to two columns.
And most importantly, it allows users to add a badge (i.e., a banner), to the top of the timeline. This pretty much makes it look like a blog!
The Timeline update sure is an empowerment to the users, who can now have greater control over not only their content, but also how the content presented.
Facebook Timeline will go live on all users’ profile on 23 December.
