The official website of Lynas Corporation has recently been hacked as thousands of Malaysians protest against the government’s decision to issue a temporary license to Lynas Corp to store rare earth in the country.

The Lynas website was hacked Monday evening by an individual using the the moniker of “4z1″ and claiming to be a Malaysian. The website is still down as at 12pm Tuesday.

A message that ran on the page reads, “We are currently experiencing some technical difficulties at the moment. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

It is believed that rare earth refinery causes hazardous radiation and will jeopardise preople’s health and also the environment.

MrDefinite.com does not support the building of Lynas’ rare earth plant in Malaysia.
