There is no end to the trend of kids dropping out of high school these days. This is not a normal statistic by any standards. While they will not be looked at favorably, there are some who drop out due to unavoidable circumstances. They shall have to find other ways to succeed in life, despite their challenges. They have their talents to fall back on. They can work on their natural abilities with no input from academics. You can also get your GED. You needed the high school diploma to get yourself admission for higher education afterwards. You can still get yourself higher education of you went for the GED. The GED will act in place of the high school diploma. There is the longer route you will have to take to get to the University of your choice as you have to pass through community college, but this is still a viable strategy. You will also manage to get a copy of your ged in case you ever lose or destroy it.
You also have the option to become an apprentice. This is ideal for anyone who could not make it through the GEDs. There shall be learning on the job to be done. An example is becoming a plumbing apprentice, where you will learn the skills of the trade as they are being applied. You shall qualify as a plumber after that, and can thus work in such a capacity. Such a strategy does not, however, work in more specialized fields such as medicine or law.
You also, have the entrepreneurial journey waiting for you when you drop out of high school. While some people go to school to study it, you can learn it in the real world.
